Noah's Ark Ipoh is an animal welfare registered NGO. With a team of dedicated volunteers, we make a difference to the lives of our strays on the streets.
We do not have a dog shelter but we manage a cat shelter. We have over 60 abandoned, sick, old, disabled cats and over 20 kittens. They are vaccinated, neutered and treated for their ailments. A fraction of them are adopted but most stay AS LONG TERM RESIDENTS.
Like all shelters they cost a lot of money to run. The dogs we rescue are boarded or fostered by our team. We have been practicing TNRM since 2009. It means Trap, Neuter, Release and Manage. The rescued will be neutered, vaccinated and be prepared to be rehomed. If we cannot rehome them they will be tagged with a green fluorescent collar and released into the Community. Here the community feeders will become responsible their welfare.
Every day NAI is bombarded with calls from the public asking to rescue abandoned strays. We find it difficult to say no but sometimes we do as we do not have place or manpower. Most shelters and fosterers homes are full.
With your donations, Noahâs Arkâs priority is to spay and neuter to keep the stray population down. Currently we have vets who are working with us to keep costs low. NAI does btwn 25 to 35 neuters a month. More if funds permit. NAI also helps other independent unregistered NGOs to continue with the TNRM. We provide subsidised veterinary care and treatment. Some community feeders are provided with animal food. This TNRM project helps us keep a control on the stray population and make a difference to the lifes of the strays in and around Ipoh.
NAI believes that a lot can be achieved through education. We fit in schools to provide understanding on animal welfare to the children.
